COLLEGE
PROGRAMS FOR COLLEGES
Aaheli Foundation offers a comprehensive range of training programs for graduate and postgraduate students, educators, and professionals across multiple disciplines, including Education, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Nursing, Public Health, Medicine, Law, and Special Education. Our programs equip future professionals with the knowledge, skills, and values required to promote gender equity, child protection, comprehensive sexuality education, and personal safety in their respective fields.
Despite the growing need for these competencies, Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and Personal Safety Education are still largely absent from school curricula as well as higher education and professional training programs across India. This gap significantly affects the preparedness of educators, counsellors, healthcare professionals, legal practitioners, and other service providers who work with children and adolescents. As a result, issues relating to gender-based violence, child protection, adolescent development, consent, and healthy relationships are often misunderstood or inadequately addressed. Research consistently demonstrates that comprehensive sexuality education does not encourage early sexual activity; instead, it promotes informed decision-making, healthier relationships, and safer behaviours.
Aaheli Foundation actively advocates for the integration of age-appropriate, culturally relevant, rights-based, and values-driven education on gender equity, sexuality, personal safety, and child protection into higher education curricula. With support from UNICEF, the Foundation successfully partnered with SCERT Telangana to advance this initiative. Between 2020 and 2023, Aaheli Foundation developed formal curriculum frameworks and resource materials and trained 42 faculty members from seven universities and higher education institutions across six disciplines—B.Ed., Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, and Public Health. These trained educators subsequently delivered Gender Equity, Sexuality, and Personal Safety Education to more than 300 students.

For Graduate and Postgraduate Students
Aaheli Foundation offers a diverse range of capacity-building programs for students pursuing graduate and postgraduate studies, with a focus on gender equity, comprehensive sexuality education, personal safety, child protection, and restorative practices. Designed for future educators, counsellors, healthcare professionals, social workers, and allied practitioners, these programs combine evidence-based knowledge with practical skills that can be applied in professional settings. Learning opportunities range from introductory awareness sessions and intensive multi-day workshops to certificate programs and comprehensive postgraduate diploma courses, enabling participants to build expertise at every stage of their professional journey.
Peer Education Program
Aaheli Foundation established its Peer Education Program at CHRIST University in 2010 to empower students as peer leaders and advocates for positive social change. Through structured training, peer educators develop the knowledge, facilitation skills, and confidence to lead meaningful conversations on gender equity, healthy relationships, comprehensive sexuality education, personal safety, consent, and mutual respect. The program recognizes the powerful influence of peer-to-peer learning in shaping attitudes, behaviours, and responsible decision-making among young adults.
After completing comprehensive training, Peer Educators design and facilitate interactive discussions, awareness activities, and group learning sessions within their campus communities. Acting as role models and catalysts for change, they encourage open dialogue, challenge myths and misconceptions, promote scientific and evidence-based understanding, and foster respectful conversations around sensitive issues. By creating safe spaces for learning and reflection, the program strengthens awareness, empathy, personal responsibility, and positive behavioural change among students.

For Teachers of Graduate and Postgraduate Courses and Counsellors
Aaheli Foundation offers specialized training programs for teachers, faculty members, and counsellors across disciplines such as B.Ed., Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, and Special Education. These programs build the knowledge, confidence, and facilitation skills required to deliver Gender Equity, Comprehensive Sexuality Education, Personal Safety, and Child Protection sessions in higher education settings. Participants are equipped with evidence-based teaching methodologies, age-appropriate approaches, and practical tools to address sensitive topics with professionalism, empathy, and cultural relevance.
By strengthening the capacity of educators and counsellors, Aaheli Foundation aims to create a multiplier effect that reaches thousands of students preparing for careers in education, healthcare, counselling, and community development. The training enables participants to integrate life skills, gender equity, personal safety, and restorative practices into their teaching and professional work, empowering future practitioners to promote safe, inclusive, and respectful environments for children, adolescents, and communities.
